DOC-3D-Printing First training week

The Early-Stage Researchers that have been recruited to work on the project DOC-3D-PRINTING met each others at Birmingham for an induction week from 26 to 30 November 2018.

9 out of the 14 PhD students working on DOC-3D-Printing met together training week at Birmingham

Organised by University of Birmingham, one of the project partners, the induction week was the opportunity for the Early-Stage Researchers that have been recruited by all the project beneficiaries to meet all together. During five days, from 26 to 30 November 2018, they attended training sessions that gave them a common understanding of the project as well as the scientific challenges that will be at the heart of their research work for the next three years. The training sessions were focussed in particular on ceramics history or history and development of 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

Other more general training sessions on how to write and publish a scientific paper or the importance of networking in order to stay updated on the last publications and scientific development were also part of the programme of this induction week.

Finally, some team building activities gave them the opportunity to know each other and to develop a team spirit that will be needed to work on the same project. With eight different nationalities among all of them, these informal moments of leisure were times to discover not only the brittish culture but also all the culturespresent in the group.

Let's hope that this induction week at the beginning of their research programme will have given some dynamism for the good of the project as a whole!
