Spring School 2019

The first Spring School took place in Maubeuge (France) and was an opportunity for the Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) to learn about different 3D printing technologies.

Hosted by the Université Polytechnique des Hauts-de-France, this Spring School was the second opportunity for the ESR working on DOC-3D-PRINTING to meet together. This was also a good opportunity for Mahamed Eid Saied and Asif Ur Rehman who were just recruited respectively in Gazi Universtity (Turkey) and Ermaksan (Turkey) to meet the other ESRs and familiarise themselves with the project.

From 30th March to 3rd April 2019, they all attended lectures given by speakers from the project (Belgian Ceramics Research Center, Université Polytechnique des Hauts-de-France, University of Birmingham, National Institute for Laser, Plasma & Radiation Physics) as well as external speakers (Université de Caen Normandie (CRISMAT), Admatec). In order to maximise the impact of this school, it was decided to open it to external PhD students which was welcome by the ESRs who could network and make connexion with other researchers and present their work to another audience.

This Spring Scool was followed by the yCAM forum in Mons (Belgium), a conference dedicated to young researchers working on Ceramics and Additive Manufacturing, where most of them presented the fisrt results of their work.
